Workflow App Increases Productivity

One of my favorite podcasts is Mac Power Users. A while ago, they were talking about a new app that was coming out soon. That App was called Workflow. Well, it’s been out for a while now, and I’ve been loving playing with it to make myself more productive. The other day I was on an airplane for hours, and I used the time to play around and create a number of workflows.

Workflow is an Application for iOS that let’s you automate certain tasks or do them with the touch of a button. There are many, many things you can do with the application.

My Favorite Workflows

  1. Shorten URL: I shorten URLs all the time to post on Facebook or Twitter. With this workflow, I can do it in one click.
  2. Speed Dial my wife: I have her purty face on my home screen, and I just tap it and my phone calls her.
  3. GIF from video: I like to make animated GIFs out of the videos I take on my phone.
  4. Latest image to DayOne: I love the journal app, and sometimes I just want to make sure I remember a picture when I’m reviewing my journal. So, I just click this workflow and the latest picture in my camera roll goes straight to my DayOne journal.

There are many other things you can do with the Workflow app. It is almost like making your own apps for different tasks you do all the time.

It takes some learning, but once you do, you’ll find that you’re using it all the time.

David Sparks has an incredible write up about the app on his website. You can check it out here.

He has also developed a great video that gives you the information about Workflow. Watch a sample below.
